Joseph, the quiet guy who proved to the whole of Africa that nice guys don’t always finish last, is out of the BBN House. He is the 9th Housemate to have been evicted. His exit took place under a shrouded moon on the evening of 14 May. But fear not JFC, for this is surely not the last you will hear of him…The ‘fine’ looking brother is not going to be resting on his laurels; he has proclaimed he is ready and itching to get back to work. But before he does so, he’s answered your burning questions...

Thelma: How did you feel when you heard about your massive fan base and that your eviction was more of a battle of fan clubs than performance in the House?
Joseph: I was surprised and shocked. People were asking me what I did that made people like me that much. People wanted me to leave and they were ready to step on toes. But I went into the House to be rememebered for something good.

Adewale: Did you ever think you would be evicted so soon?
Joseph: I never knew I will stay that long. I took the show's pace as it was coming. You just needed to be open-minded in the House because you don't know what you do that makes people keep you in the House.

Rosebells: You are a super hero and a role model for most of us - your fans. Don’t you think your eviction would have been impossible if you added more style and entertainment to your game in the House?
Joseph: I don't think there was any other thing I should have added. I have no regrets. I presented myself to the people. What you see is what you get. At least, I never knew there was a JFC and if they think I was boring, they wouldn't have given me such huge support.

Aderonke: How do you feel being evicted as a result of some of your fans’ arrogant write-ups. Then, what next (after BBN) aside flying?
Joseph: I feel good. It was fantastic. I give kudos to them [the JFC]. Perhaps, the approach might not have been the best, but it is awesome to see people you don't know giving you such huge support. After the BBN show, what i will do depends on what comes my way. All in all, i'm available for opportunities. I will like to go into the media industry, television especially, but i will still wiegh the odds in all options.

Mary: What's your reaction when you found out that JFC was responsible for your eviction?
Joseph: I wouldn't blame them. The truth is that i still appreciate the initiative. They fought for some one they don't know. I think they were only caught up in the politics of the whole thing. They did a good job of keeping me in the House.

xtine: Joseph, you always say it’s up to the girls to come to you, but as a man, don’t you feel it’s you who should pursue who you like and not who likes you. Good girls let the man to do the chasing…so why not?
Joseph: You misunderstood me. What I mean is that the world is now a global village and there are equal opportunities for guys and girls. If a girl likes a man, personally, I believe she can go for him. When I see good and gorgeous girls, I go for them also.

onikepo amosu: Do you still have feelings for Maureen because you said on Sunday that you liked her?
Joseph: If I get to meet her, we might start again and things might work out. You never know! She is a nice person and still has potentials to do more.

Zabe: Why did it take you so long to admit your love for Maureen and what are you going to do about it?
Joseph: Maureen was a nice person and she started in the House like a mobiliser, garthering people together. I like that kind of strong quality in a woman but I wasn't emotionally attached. I don't like rushing into relationships and if I see convincing and good qualities in a woman, I will go for her.

Princess Attah: Were you upset that Maureen dumped you because of Gideon?
Joseph: Not at all; I didn't see it as dumping. I think she didn't know what she want. She wanted to be with the strongest guy in the House and she saw that in Gideon.

Nike ahmed: Can you please tell us who Joseph really is outside the BBN House?
Joseph: I am still the same Joseph you saw in the House. I don't talk except it's sensible. I have a high sense of value and integrity. Even among my friends, I speak when I have to speak. Some people might think i'm boring but that is just me.

Nwakaego : Do you think Sandy is the type of lady you would want to go out with?
Joseph: Time will tell. Like I said earlier, I like to know people more before doing anything serious with them.

Amara: How did you feel when Sandra made her feelings known to you?
Joseph: I felt indifferent but she had earlier been after Ebuka and Frank. If Ebuka had consented, something would have come up. More so, I was thinking if she had liked me from the first she was in the House, like she said, then why did she still attempt to hook up with Frank and Ebuka?

Dolly: Will it be wrong to conclude that you are slow in action to have missed out on the two ladies who loved you because you were waiting for them to make the move contrary to our tradition in this part of the world?
Joseph: I don't think that tradition still holds. The futue is individual. You have the choice. A lady can go for a guy if she likes him.

Juliet: You are among the nicest guys in the world. Will you be able to visit Namibia if you are invited?
Joseph: Sure, especially realising that a lot of people from South Africa, Namibia and other Southern African countries appreciate me. Seeing all these, I will go anywhere to say thank you. I will also like to do a tour, but it depends on what Storm Production says.

Chantale: What are your plans now that you have left the BBN House? And what lessons did you learn from people. What is your advice to the younger generation and others who would like to enter BBN in future?
Joseph: I have learned to be more responsive and responsible to the people around me. Also, I learned more about sharing knowledge. On what I will do after BBN, I will have to weigh the prospects and odds. And to the younger generation, they should learn individual awareness and stand their ground anywhere they find themselves. They should not allow themselves to be controlled by others. If they are going into the House in future, they should go with that same mentality.

Zanele : You have a lot of supporters in South Africa; are you planning to visit South Africa sometime in future?
Joseph: Yes, I will like to come to South Africa. I'm having a meeting with the production team on this. Also, I would like to meet the JFCs in S.A.

Vera: What was your greatest challenge in the House? Given another chance, what creative Task (intellectual) would you do with the Housemates.
Joseph: Leading people for a long time is challenging. Though I have Human Relations experience because I've been in the Customer Service industry for almost ten years. But I'd have loved Tasks that exhibit our cultural heritage. Most of the Tasks made people individualistic and competitive, thereby loosing focus. The Tasks should be restructured to promote the country's image. The Tasks should show the outside world what they don't know about the us and not individuals showing what they can do.

Boye: What positive impact do you think BBN has on the youth?
Joseph: It has a lot of impact and influence on them; giving them an insight into how people think and behave. It shows our custom and values cum cultural heritage to the world, and they learnt from it.

Thelma: Who do you think will win?
Joseph: I don't know because the show is unpredictable. I believe the show would have ended if I had not been evicted because it was getting hot outside and it could have degenerated into into chaos. People wanted me to leave the House and they were stepping on people's toes.

Mayokun: Can you describe your experience in the House in one sentence?
Joseph: It was interesting and challenging. I met new and vibrant people. The Tasks were good but there weren't too challenging to me because I'm used to that kind of dynamics in my work and daily life.

Demola: Joe, how do you wish to build on the experience of the BBN and the solid fan base of the JFC?
Joseph: I would like to maintain the fan club. I would also like to have a medium to continue communication with the movement. I would like to use television programmes to interact with people and solve societal problems.

Irene: What advice do you have for your FC, knowing now that they were responsible for your staying in the house as well as your eviction?
Joseph: I can only thank them for the initiative. They built the website and often gave people money to vote. It is not easy to build energy. I will get a good motivator among them and we will all work together as a team. They can do better. They shouldn't just have taken it too far on some occasions.
