He is Gideon ‘Soul Child’ Okeke. The guy who has placed Ajegunle - a sprawling Lagos suburb - on the map, spoke to us on Tuesday 25 April.

He made a smooth entrance into the Big Brother Nigeria House proclaiming that he would be quintessentially - Gideon.

His image has been one potted with seeming contradictions: he is the muscle bounded hunk who speaks eloquently and goes for the 'simple' girl. He's an old hand at modeling but also holds a Bio-Chemistry Degree. No stereo–types here folks.

He has shown us on his two outings on the Big Brother stage that he handles press like a pro. Here he is with answers to your questions dear web users, enjoy…


Ifeatu: What are you going to be doing now, since you didn’t win the money?
Gideon: I am planning to go into acting, I want my modeling to become more high profile modeling. I am going into the recording studio tomorrow night.

Oke: Have you represented AJ (Ajegule) well and what positive influence of AJ helped your stay in the House?
Gideon: The support, you don’t know the half of it. Where I’m from actually set the stage for me, everyone was looking out for me because of m,y background. i think I reperesented, I did them proud.

BBN Web: The first thing that peole noticed when you entered the House was your great body. How hard was it to maintain your form in the House and have you gotten back to the gym since leaving the House?
Gideon: I normally work out on my own but there was no motivation in the House for me to keep up with my routine. I did excercise when I was feeling down though. I haven't gotten back to my old workout routine yet, I'm trying to rest.

lilian: Gideon, what attracted u to maureen?
Gideon: Her simplicity.

Queen: Why did you decide to have a relationship with Maureen when you knew she was dating Joseph?
Gideon: In a true life situation, I don’t think you can have one guy coming at you at you at any given time - you maybe have 3 or 4 guys. Whoever a woman see’s as true wins her heart first, that’s reality.

Benny: You professed love to Maureen. Are you sure you guys will keep up…knowing that she is older than you?
Gideon: Maureen and I are trying to be friends all over again, let’s hope it works out. We have a lot of people who are supporting our relationship and wanting to see if it was for real and we have a some pressures with regards to the age thing – comments have come up about us being 'very daring Nigerians'. Some people say they don’t think it will work out because she’s older. [Maureen is 1 year older than Gideon].

Ike: Do you feel your involvement with Maureen cost you the prize?
Gideon: In some sense it did, it wouldn’t be true to say it didn’t. But, given the chance I’d do it again. She’s got the heart.

Sibongile: Which other girl would you have been attracted to if Maureen was not in the House?
Gideon: I would have resorted to desperate measures if Maureen hadn't been in the House.

Ngozi: Did you and Maureen have sex in the House? You can tell us since you are now off camera?
Gideon: It didn't happen.

Josie: How will you cope with the attendant limelight that Maureen will have via the Big Brother Nigeria exposure?
Gideon: She’s going to have her own share of the attention and i'm going to have mine, if we’re true to ourselves we will make it work.

Becky: Who is your least favourite Housemate? Is it Joseph?
Gideon: I don't really want to defame anyone or influence voting by answering that question.

Lesogo: Do you have plans coming to South Africa for some modeling or presenting?
Gideon: Yeah, before the end of the year, I hope so.

Hilarious: What would say has kept Francisca in the House so far?
Gideon: Every other girl in the House sees her as a threat. Joan picked on her, Ify and Helen also. The viewers are trying to protect her, I've only been able to see this since I came out here.

Le’Phonza: What does the ring in your left hand mean, marriage?
Gideon: Ify gave it to me, it didn’t fit on any of my other fingers except that one.

Hila: What would you say attributed to a couple leaving the House one after the other?
Gideon: If you understand Nigeria we’re not that open, we’d rather sweep things under the carpet. In the House it [nominations of couples] was because emotions flared. The [reasons for] nominations aren’t actually true, sentiments and prejudices play a part.

Ogo: Who in your opinion is really playing the game and who do you think will win?
Gideon: Katung is doing a good job, he’s very objective. Katung should, but I’m not ruling out Ebuka. We were just trying to get along with each other. I thought it would be myself, I thought it would be Maureen...

Olivia: What was your most memorable moment in the House?
Gideon: Almost every moment [was memorable] – hanging out with the boys, we hit it off almost immdediately. Everyday things, I can’t pick out just pick one.

Eden: Why were you so surprised when you found out five of your Housemates nominated you? Having been watching BBN since your eviction, do you now have an inkling on why you were evicted?
Gideon: I believe very much that I got into the hearts of my Housemates, I don’t see why they would vote for me. I suspected that Ify and Sandy would ahve nominated me.

Obi: What would you say about Ify’s accent (Is it real)?
Gideon: My perception is that she’s doing a good job but she has five or six different influences in her accent. I’m really wondering where that came from. Her brother wasn’t coming anything close to her [in the accent]. The second time that he came to the Eviction Show he tried to play up to Ify [by changing his accent]. The very first day Yinka asked her if she traveled but Frank and Joseph have traveled and talk about it. If you ask me I’d say she talks well.

Peter: How do you feel being nominated by Frank, one of your ‘main men’?
Gideon: Frank is a sly guy but I wouldn’t actually take it out on him. He’s still my guy.

BBN Web: What do you think about Helen?
Gideon: Helen is a strategist, a schemer, she’d rather be locked in the shadows to get a cue from what’s happening. That’s a good strategy. That’s Helen.

Bimpe: How do you feel knowing that you were voted out by Joe’s fan club?
Gideon: They're strong, they're good, but that doesn’t mean he’ll win.

Peter: How do you feel being nominated by Frank, one of your ‘main men’?
Gideon: Frank is a sly guy but I wouldn’t actually take it out on him. He’s still my guy.

Dupsylala: Would you say the Housemates dislike Francisca?
Gideon: No, we love the girl, I think it has to do with her age. She’s a talented girl but always on her own when things are happening. In the House we built this bond of having fun, she’s always lost in the shadows. She makes an effort to try and please the Housemates and she is easily influenced by the options of the older female Housemates.

muchy: Gideon, What are your plans for the future?
Gideon: I plan to go into acting, I want my modelling to go high profile, i'm also goin into the recording studio tomorrow night.

Omo: What lessons were you able to learn as a Housemate?
Gideon: My experiences have humbled me, taught me to have respect for people, to listen. A whole lot of things came out - besides the music - I got to know more about myself.

Olivia: What do you think the will world remember about Gideon?
Gideon: They’ve not seen the half of me yet...
